Competition Information
Competition 2022 is on HOLD until Further Notice
Current 2022 Team Participants in 6th-8th grade who are interested in competing are invited to attend a Competition Interest Practice 1st Thursday in September if and when our competition season is a go.
At this practice coaches will have team members work on synchronization in cheer motions, jump preps, jumps, dance and tumbling along with testing out different stunting positions with those in attendance. Those who the coaches agree on skill wise for a competitive group is then our Competition Team and they have mandatory comp practice Thursdays October thru December and Tuesdays November thru December tentatively.
*Splits, strong bridge, perfect forward roll and clean round-off are strongly recommended.
We have alternates for the competition team which is a group of cheerleaders that still get to practice with the team and work on the new skills with the competition group at select practices. Select cheerleaders from this group may be called in when there are absences to keep the comp group moving forward, to fill in if there is an injury or to replace a team member if there is an issue. There also get the chance to attend the
competitions with the team for the experience if we attend in-person!
We plan on competing at the Southside Showdown Cheerleading Competition at Waukesha South High School usually the 2nd Saturday in December and the East Troy Holiday Invite usually the 3rd Saturday in December. There is a chance that these competitions could be semi or fully virtual. This means we may be performing either in-person with only our spectators and/or our division teams in the gym on site of competition or at MHS and submitted by video on competition day. There is also the option of cheerleaders competing in individual divisions, please email me if you are interested in performing individually. I will send out information on practice times and cost for this year.
It is an honor to be on the team and we expect exceptional behavior, attendance and dedication to help the team achieve a great routine in anyway the coaches ask of you!
Due to extensive hours staff puts in to compete, there will be a cost of $200.00 associated with being on the competition team. Interest to compete has grown over the years and in turn our competition team size has grown, more high level coaching staff is in demand, choreography for a larger group is necessary, and higher level stunting skills are taught. We never want cost to deter a participant from being part of this chance to experience this next level of cheer and will work with those who make the team with financial options if needed.
